Newbie needs help

Hi Guys!

Need your advice on getting another 4Runner. Apparently, the head gasket on my 94 4Runner (4wd, 6cyl) just blew and it will cost anywhere from $1300 to $2k depending if anything else was damaged. I found another 4Runner. It's a 98 4Runner, 5spd, 4wd w/ 121K miles. The engines seems ok, but cosmetically the truck needs help (scratches on the side, dented bumpers, missing pieces insides like the tabs for the a/c controls & other stuff). However, the asking price is $10k OTD. Should I go for it? Like I said, it's just cosmetic that the truck needs help, but it looks like I may need to get a new set of bumpers and possibly reupholstered. Anyone know how much that would cost? You guys have been absolutely great on the advice you've presented here in the past and I would greatly respect any input you gentlemen (and ladies) would put forth. Thanks for anyones' replies!

Pardon me for being a pessimist, but if the exterior and interior are hurting I would think its most likely the engine is hurting.

And for the money concious in the group $2k (which seems very high) is much much cheaper than 10k. However if your 94 is ready to give up the ghost in other areas as well, that changes the decision (or if you're just ready for a new truck, that changes the decision as well)

There is a guy on here asking around 10 for a 97 Limited with 124k on it, for comparison at least.
