Question new upper or lower control arms with HD spring lift (1.5") ?

I am ready to lift my sagging rear and i noticed on all pro offroad's websight that they sell tougher and longer control arms. I didn't know if these are necessary or just extras....i'm not planning on doing any really serious offroading and am probably going to stick with my 31x10.5" tires at least until i get a real job................thanks for the input

All you need to lift your sagging rear is a new pair of coil springs - from Downey, OME, or Performance Products. The two most popular brands on here are Downey and PP. The only other necessary mod at the time will be to relocate your brake proportioning valve, and the bracket to do that is included with the Downey kit. I have had the Downey Heavy Duty coils on my rig for 2 years and have not had a single problem - they are still my favorite mod to date. Let us know if you need anything else.

thanks..............

the reason i asked about the control arms was that on all pro's web page they said "Lifted 4Runners with coil suspension and lots of travel can have problems with the factory upper control arm brackets tearing away from the axle housing."

thanks for the input...much appreciated!!

If you are only installing a set of rear coils, I wouldn't sweat putting new control arms in. Most of us haven't and have not had any problems...yet!
