Maybe the 90915-YZZD1 also works for the 3.4l v6.

I have been using the 90915-20004 Japanese filter on my 2.7L Tacoma. Today my latest order of filters arrived and the invoice said "90915-20004" but the boxes said "90915-YZZD3". Called the parts folks and they told me the new number superseded the "20004" version. The cup wrench still fits the new filter.
...and yes, these are made in Thailand.
Anyone know more?

My 2.7L Tacoma uses the 08922-02011 and my Camry uses the 90915-YZZA2. I did a search and found this. Apparently the 90915-YZZD1 filter is for a corolla. I think the site specifies that is is for a diesel corolla.

They are slightly more expensive, but I think it is worth it.

This dealer filter number thing is making me dizzy.
I have a 2004 Tacoma 4 cyl - 2.4l
The truck came from the factory with oil filter 90915-20003. The first time I went to change it, the dealer sold me oil filter 08922-02011. I fished around the web and was told by parts employees in 3 different Toyota delaerships that 90915-20003 was used in Japan where the engine was assembled and 08922-02011 was what the U. S. dealers were given to use/sell.
Today I went back to the same dealer and was sold oil filter 90915-YZZD1. The guy said it now replaces 08922-02011.
I wonder how long it will be before I can go to a Toyota dealership and buy the same filter two or more times in a row?
Update:
I live in the central time zone - all Toyota dealers are closed here. I tried calling several to get opinions on this.
Decided to give the west coast a try as they are 2 hrs. behind me.
Spoke with a parts guy at Mossy Toyota in San Diego, Calif.
He told me that 90915-YZZD1 now replaces 08922-02011.
I guess next time I change oil, the YZZD1 will get replaced by something else. Who knows?

as far as irember all the toyota trucks and camrys and such all use a std replacement size of a whaterbrand 3614 (fram, web, etc) so i would think it really doenst matter if it is close and not exactly the same part #
