New guy here.
Hi,
Am new here and wanted to say hello to everyone. I own a '96 4Runner and I've been so pleased with this Toyota. I live in the Midwest, the 4Runner is very stock except for a few mods made out of necessity. It is my daily driver and has proved to be a great, reliable truck. Recently, I had battery problems - my Sears diehard died - doesn't have enough to crank the starter - what a crappy battery! :) It's just a year old. I tested it with my battery tester and it fails the load test. All other tests were fine. So I installed a redtop reversed post (34R) Optima. Thanks to you guys and your posts - I took your opinions and decided that it is the best battery for the cost available for 3rd gen. 4Runners. I used the optima spacer and cut it so that when it rests on top, the terminals can be still be reached. It allows the use of the stock battery bracket. Working good so far and have no more starting problems. Anyways, just wanted to say 'hello group'. :) El. |

YES! the midwest rocks! (no not really)
you are gonna be glad you found some new 4runner/toy wheelin buddies! |
Hmmm...ok to post up a pic of my 4Runner? Like I said, suspension-wise, it's totally stock. But I love this truck! My first one.
It's about 20 degrees here in Northern Illinois, conditions were ripe (hasn't run for over a day, COLD morning) for the old crappy Sears DieHard to give me a hard time and fail to crank the engine. This 34R RedTop Optima cranked and started the 4Runner right up! Is it me or are my lights a bit brighter too now? Must be me! ;) I do have minor mods on my 4Runner but nothing suspension-wise like some of you guys. I'll take a pic soon. Again, thanks for the great welcome. :) |
