Need help identifying year of motor

3 Attachment(s)
Let me start off by introducing myself! I just traded my suzuki samurai for a 1993 toyota 4x4 with the 3.0 that had spun a rod bearing. In the bed it came with a 3.4 motor (suppossedly a 99 tacoma ) missing the engine wiring harness, intake, and brain. I need help trying to figure out what computer to buy I have attached some pics and from what i have gathered it looks like a 2001 or newer automatic ... HELP Thanks! I also need an engine wiring harness and intake...:camp2: There is a block number on the block itself it reads "1629612"
Also not sure if the timing cover is from this motor as it was loose when i got the motor but there's some number son there too.

Just buy a complete intake and wiring harness from one vehicle, Im fairly positive almost all of the 3.4 stuff is interchangeable. Some of the injectors in the 2000 and up models are slightly different than the earlier years if im not mistaken but as long as you have an intake harness and computer from a single vehicle you will be alright. I put a motor out of an auto 2002 into my 97 5spd without any problems.

good idea so u used the auto computer on the 5 speed...

Nope, I used what was already in the 97, what im saying is as long as you get the harness, intake assembly, and computer from the same donor vehicle you will be fine, it wont realy matter what year the motor is from. Make sure that you get a harness that does or does not have a provision for the egr valve depending on wether or not you intend to run one.

Id also send an email to the guy that runs offroadsolutions.com the site says they are shut down but they still build plug and play wiring harness for that swap. There is quite a bit of good tech info on that site as well concerning the swap.
