need to hear your take on this....

First time poster and recently joined this great knowledge based forum. I just finished installing the Hayden 679 tranny cooler on my '01 4Runner and it was an experience, good & bad IMO. Broke a clip when I took out the grille, pinched a layer of fins on radiator I hope it is not bad. By the way for which purpose is the radiator (front foremost)...for air conditioning? Anyway I'll just keep an eye for ATF leaks, if any.

Now here is my dilemma, a friend of mine is willing to part ways with his 2nd gen supercharger for a very good price with install. It came off from a 4runner he used to own...he said the buyer cared less for it. Have some of you experienced no issues with just bolting on the supercharger? I have been reading issues with VBU, pinging, 7th injection & fuel upgrade which eventually surfaced after installing the SC. Would a deck plate mod be a minimal substitute? I probably can not afford those extras for a SC to work w/out a hitch. My routines are just street driving, no offroading

Your opinions are greatly appreciated. :banger:

There should be 2 "radiators". The front is the A/C condenser the rear is the radiator.

Welcome to YT!
First off run a search for "TRD Supercharger". That should answer any questions you might have. Enjoy!

welcome! don't forget about a life of premium gasoline :) I would say if you're putting something like a supercharger on your stock engine, the "deck plate mod" wouldn't be enough (some claim it does little but add more engine growl). if i were putting on a $2500 piece of machinery, i'd definitely be buying the other components to protect it/your engine.
