Motor Mounts
I did some searching and can't seem to find anyone who makes poly motor/trans mounts for the 1st gen Tacos (i'm a V6). I don't really want to go with solid mounts due to the fact that they translate a lot of vibration and harshness into the cab.
If anyone has any info on where I could purchase a set of poly motor/trans mounts that would be great! Thank you, -Brian |
Can I ask why you're looking for better motor mounts? Do they need replacing or are you worried about the power of the supercharger being there?
Stock works just fine. |
Good question.
The stock motor mounts are beginning to show signs of deterioration (small cracks in the rubber). Also, when all is said and done, I will be in the neighborhood of 300hp. I would like as much of that power as possible to be transferred to the wheels of the truck and not the rocking motion of the motor. That is over a 50% increase in power over the stock 5VZ-FE. Hence the desire for the poly mounts. |

Don't know if these will work for you but they do list a V6, are you a 3.4 or 3.0? Email him, maybe they'll still work or maybe he can make you some.

Trailgear.com has a set of after market motor mounts, never used them or know anyone that has but something that you could look into

i wouldn't worry about it. I ran more power than that on a 67 mustang with stock motor mounts, and it barely flexed on downshift / WOT

And regarding the mustang, you have to remember that chassis was built to handle more power and I am willing to bet those motor mounts were a lot stronger than the stock 5VZ-FE mounts. |
