Cool Leaky CV's after lift on 99 4Rnr IFS: fixed; have ?

allready fixed, just putting this out there, also want to know if, by pictures anyone can tell if too much leaked out

I just wanted to thank the guys who have allready made posts about this, I'm just putting a couple pics out there. I never came across this issue in the weeks i spent on the forums reading about lifts and issues. This worried me today when I went to put the skids back on, came here, found issue/resolution, and fixed.

Background for newer members, such as myself, after lifting your 4runner, and hopefully installing a diff drop to relieve unneccessary stress on cv's, the boots still don't like the change from where they were for 5-6 years. This change causes the boot clamps to become unseated and throws grease out the ends.

On mine only two joints were leaking, both on the smaller diameter portion of the boot, one on the inner passenger side, and other was outer cv driverside. My lift was last weekend, stealership never mentioned it after alignment wednesday; I'm sure they would have noticed it. So it must have started thursday or friday, about 150-200 miles after the lift.

Basically, I just lifted each side separately by the lower arm, so as to not angle the cv's, removed the wheel, wiped up the mess, checked for any damage to boots, removed the old clamps by unlatching with a small screwdriver and a needlenose, wrapped the areas under clamps with about 7-10 turns of vinyl tape (electrical tape), and put on hose clamps, I went ahead and did all 4 smaller clamps.... ...I hope that by offsetting inner and outer clamps, balance will not become an issue...

lemme know if you can think of any other issues

and lemme know if you think too much grease leaked out in this pic of outer cv leak - in this one, the clamp was very loose... may have been broke for awhile, and the rubber just came unstuck after lift, other side was much less leakage
