Landcruiser, Prado, Hilux Diesel Turbo

Ok, I mentioned before I was going to get some pictures up so you all could see a few of our local rigs and I finally took a few while running around today.

First up is a Landcruiser I saw out by my house. And yes, he's parked on the sidewalk:devil:

Next up is an 03 Prado on the lot a the dealership. Sticker price was about $42K:cry:

Next is a turbo diesel Surf front view. I know alot of you love the functional hood scoop:bigok:

And finally the diesel engine in the Surf. Note the parallel battery setup.

I also got a few pics of a Supra and Skyline GTR. If anyone wants to see them let me know and I'll post in the Off Topic forum.

Later.

So... are the Toyota Prado and the Lexus GX essentially the same vehicle?

Curious minds and all that. ;)

Woodbert, nice pictures. Whats the Surf going for? Thanks.

Albuquerque Jim 04-26-2003 06:28 AM

Can you get a functional hood scoop for a 3rd gen?

kerrs 04-26-2003 10:14 AM

Do you have any "side on" pics of the Surf.

Looks a pretty neat truck.

Shame Toyota don't import them in to the UK. In a few years time I might look into importing one myself

Cheers, Kerr

So Surks and Prados are being sold side by side that would be like 4Runners and GX470 right next to each other in the show room.

So the Surf has the diesel with a functioning hood scoop can you get a Prado with the same diesel or do they not share the same engines like the 4.7L V8 in the 4Runner and GX

I would loke to see the Skyline GTR and Supra

I'm not sure if you can get the Prado with diesel. I don't have a catalog handy.

kerrs,
Here is a side view of mine, but I don't have the diesel.

Paul,

I think the base price on the diesel is $32K. Tax, title options would put it around $40-42K.

EDGE 04-26-2003 01:45 PM

That front on the Supra has to go, any R34 Skylines.

Woodbert your Surf has the 3.4L V6 we have here in the US on the 3rd Gen 4Runners, is the diesel better than it, bigger than it, I mean whats the difference betwen the 2 besides type of fuel it needs.

Also you said the Surf is 32k base and with options and such it would be 40k-42k, the sticker on my 4Runner was 43k, now in your 1st post the Prado had a sticker of 42k:cry:  so would that mean with options it would be 50k, is their no price difference between the 2 for top models.

Out the door the Prado would be almost $50K. The Landcruiser is almost $50K base. At least another $10K with tax, title, options.

The diesel has more torque, but I could not see an extra $3K for that. And the hood scoop. The dealer actually steered me away from the diesel

EDGE 04-26-2003 02:14 PM

Then the difference in price their is not that different than here:chairfall

It depends on which opttions you get. I paid about $32K for mine with leather, moon roof etc.

A Prado outfitted like mine would be at LEAST an extra $10K. Another $10K for a Landcruiser.

I suspect they are slightley less expensive here depending on the Yen rate and options, but close to the statesie price.

EDGE 04-26-2003 03:06 PM

Right, my 4Runner had all options and the sticker was 43k, the GX470 has basically everything the 4Runner has plus some and the stickers on those are mid 50k but a base model with no DVD/NAV or 3rd row is 45k, now a Toyota LC is about 60k and the Lexus LX470 same truck but the Lexus amenities and the truck is touching 70k;)

About the same

Woodbert 04-27-2003 12:34 AM

Here is a rear view of the Prado. Do they have the backup mirror in the states?

http://www.hpphoto.com/servlet/LinkP...201538&size=lg

EDGE 04-27-2003 12:56 AM

I wish we had those back up mirrors on the SUV's would make it so much easier parallel parking in tight spots but then again I avoid areas where the idiots will bump the cars to know they can't go anymore.

I have seen a Pathfinder in the city that had a back up mirror he ordered it from Japan;)

A guy on club Lexus has a Prado he is from Panama, pretty nice lookin
