Just purchased Tacoma, did I buy a grenade? Please help

Cars has really bad sputter when heavy on gas and very noticeable at certain loads in particular (50mph-60mph; certain rpm ranges) but clears up. Lately it's gotten worse. Noticed my ignition coil was broken at the connector to pic tail. Replaced with new coil. Cool. Ran good again. Then didn't. Started running like crap under certain load conditions and is worse then before. Was throwing knock sensor error code. Figured it was clearly a bad coil not performing due to greater resistance which would be throwing the code. Nope. Ordered two brand new Denso knock sensors. But why is something telling me that's not going to fix my problem judging by the way my truck sounded like shaking a tin can full of marbles whenever I give it gas while driving. If anyone has experienced this or can verify this really is just the knock sensors I can sleep easy knowing the parts on its way. Want to do the fuel injectors too but if my engine is smoked it doesn't really matter, any advice or help is much appreciated. Thanks

What Year?
What Engine?
4wd or 2WD?
Auto or stick?
How many Miles?

providing more info helps us to help you...any vehicle can run like crap if previous owners/current management fail to take care of stuff

1999 SR5 PreRunner 2WD V6 3.4 Automatic. Side note, went to my local part store guy goes "you sure it's an SR5 nothing in my database shows your config as being such", I was under the impression Speed rally 5 just meant I had a 5 speed auto tranny.

Previous owner states the engine was replaced. Body is clean gram looks great. Just getting this funky jerking and check engine light that has a mind of its own. One minute it's there. Then next it's gone. Then it's back with a vengeance.

So your only getting the one code??

PO325 or PO330 or are you getting both ??

Loose ECM ground ??

loose or corroded or damaged connections from the engine change

SR5 is just a package

So when I originally scanned it I came back with just bank one sensor malfunction. The other code (other sensor bank) did come up also detecting a knock. Doesn't this mean that something is causing the knock, not necessarily the knock sensor is bad

It just means the ECM is detecting a problem in the knock sensor circuit

It can be a open or short circuit

knock sensor is loose

ECM problem

any or all of the above

Ok. Gonna install the knock sensors and update from there esp if I'm still having running issues. Fingers crossed that's all it is.
