JDM Clinometer pics

Guys,

I won a JDM Surf clinometer in November, followed Wild Bill's lead and chopped it up to fit into the upper DIN slot. I decided to fiberglass the areas where the clinometer was exposed and also decided to paint it black. I didn't spend a whole lot of time cleaning and prepping the outer case since its on the inside. Ok, so I'm vain. :D There was quite a bit of custom work to do w/ the fiberglass and some plastic putty to allow for screws to secure it to the DIN cage. Anyways, the write up should be done by the end of the week.

Here are two pics of the mod:

After driving around for a few days now, I hardly look down at it. Aside from the 'cool' factor, as others have said, it would be much better to mount it at eye level. However on my next off-roading trip, I'll see if having the clinometer in this spot is more of a nuisance than a useful tool.

Ok guys, you ask, you get:

Notice on this pic, my Pro-fit has some door edge guard on the leading edge. If you have a Pro-fit and have had friend's hit their knees on this, you know that this is good mod for those knees!

Also for you eagle-eyed stereo folks, yes, that is an older stock Toyota stereo. To make this work, I switched out my stock stereo w/ 6 CD changer out and into my wife's 95 Camry stereo (which you see here). She couldn't be happier. Since I listen to alot of talk radio, its no big deal. :)

What's that hole in your stereo that says "anti-theft system" on it? I vagely remember these from the 80's but can't remember the name. :nerd:

J/K looks like a good, clean install!

Rockin Stuff!!!!

While driving it helped to wedge a matchbook between the bottom of the cartridge and the player slot to keep the tape cartridge from flopping around and the tunes from cutting out.

Sad to say I still have 18 Bob Dylan 8 Tracks.
Once I had my 70 Nova SS 396 broken into. The guy took my $3 tape case and dumped out the 8 tracks and left them...

Scofco Apr 1, 2004 09:01 PM

I received a box full of 8-tracks left in the garage when I moved into this house.
