i have a set of 33's that are the intorco thronbird tls. i was wondering if anyone has used this tire before. while driving down the road it pulls bad and rip's me across the road. and if it is a back road i have to go about 15 to keep from swerving into the other lane. has anybody else had these problems with these tires?

in general, they're regarded as terrible tires. their weight and the fact that they're bias ply make them a poor choice on the road, while their small lug voids don't do much good off-road. their only redeeming factor is their side lugs, but if you're concerned about those, get a set of boggers or LTBs as they're better in pretty much every way.

yes the truck is parked right now untill i get new tires in a week. i will post some pics up of my tires

yup those tires jsut suck... the only thing they are good for is looking tough... they make a ton of noise, and make your truck handle like crap and really jsut basically suck on or off-road....

the center lugs come out!leaving a hole down to the threads.they dont pull in the mud,sand ,road,clay,gumbo,loose dirt,packed dirt,gravel,ect.you have to be in a rut that fits the side lugs to get any traction.

not sure they still have fairly deep threads on them not as worn as they look. they were on the truck when i got it so im not sure. but the truck is sitting were it is at untill i get my new tires. anybody have and suggestions on tires? i am looking for 33x12.50x15. manily just looking for something that rides good and doesnt rip across the road

sorry i may sound dumb but what is saf?? i dont know the color but i really want to know. i will try to get some pics of it tomorrow. in the sun it is like cherry red with sparkles and in the shade it is dark red almost black. the paint is worn so when i get the money i am gonna find out the color and get it repainted.

So how many of you have actually run these tires? How much is net lore?

Is anyone going to suggest that something else might be wrong making the truck dive all over the road? Seems to me tires would not be the sole culprit.

I have MT/R's and like them.

the only reason i think tires are the main reason is because if i drive on a newer paved main road it rides perfect if the road turns to a older road it starts to jerk. and if it is a back road might as well push it. it only seems to pull bad when there is a bigger arch on the road and the side grips on these are horrible

Ya those tires suck. I had a set of 33's and they pulled and made the truck handle like a dump truck. They don’t have any traction ether. They are only poser tires. I now have a set of 36 tslsx’s and they are sweet compared to the thornbirds. It is all the tires. This is on an 82 with 6” of lift and duel cases.

Aha "Thorn-turds"! hahahhahahha A well deserved, bad reputation. They are popular amongst the "4-Wheel Parts" crowd, but not many others.

I ran a set for a brief period years ago and disliked pretty much everything about them.

I have actually owned these tires and driven them enough that can account for true factual experience. The vehicle that the tires were on had a recent alingment, new steering parts, and new rims but the tires were pretty old as they were hard and dry.

While the tires may be not the only thing that can cause the rig being thrown off the road, tires definitely have a play in this.

The tires follow any holes on the road or if the road has "ruts" of tire wear, it will follow that "rut".

They suck in every department and are terrible to balance not to mention noisy if that bothers you.

Hopefully that makes sense.

Basically, I hated the tires.

Sounds to me like you have some bad bumpsteer issues, not tire issues.

kumho venture m/t's worked really good for me. the tread lasts a long time compared to other mud tires and they pull good in mud and sand too. plus, theyre like $105 per tire for 33x12.50's.
