Increased Fuel Capacity ?
I am trying to find a way that i can carry more fuel other than jerry cans. I want to either upgrade to a 120L gas tank or add a second reserve tank to get to 120L...if anyone has any ideas or information on how this can be done that would be great. Thanks.

before I decided to just relocate my fuel tank to where the spare tire is, I had planned on adding a second tank. I'd use a stock fuel pump assembly and wire a relay to turn on, pumping fuel to the main tank, when the low fuel indicator came on. Filling the tank was easy to figure out, the filler hard line has a bend in it, at this point I'd weld in a "Y", so when you can fuel up both tanks at the same time, this also help keeping them pressurized as well. I may still do a variant of this design, so I can will have a 30 galllon capacity.

Perhaps you can get one of these to work without too much trouble. I have the Tacoma version and love it.

Rob,
Where did you put your filler neck @? I'd love to get one but I don't think I can afford the 4" drop to my spare w/o a lift. Aaron |
The filler goes in the left, rear wheel well. You can see it in the inset of the this photo.

Downey talks about how to use the aux tank as a replacement for main tank. I think the 2nd gen 20 gallon aux tank would be a good relocating tank for 2nd and 3rd gens wanting to do a custom link setup.
