it stopped 2 weeks ago...i tried a used coil...no luck....and all the igniter assemblys had been snagged already at the junk yard....i have an assembly from a 79 that i got at the junk yard but it only has a single prong power plug....any way to rig it up to work?....what about the regulator?...could it be the problem?...hey i don't have a computer at home you can call me if you have any ideas or can help me out...707 479 6811...names Aden...thanks :help: !!

the alternator regulator doesn't do a thing for the ignition system.

before you fork out $300 to toyota, you could always buy an MSD box for a little over $100, or check the parts stores and compare prices.

it is quite easy to wire up the msd box... i have seen one in an 83 engine..... you can even reuse the stock coil and the original distributer
