Hi guys,

No for another problem i have been having on 5VZ-FE

i recently lost a waterpump which cause a overheat, replaced the waterpump and removed the thermostat , drove it and started getting hot after driving hard ( not reaching red line but blowing bubble in the radiator reservoir ) so opted to have the heads taken off skimmed it and "pressure tested" ( not sure of the workmanship)

I now have it back and it still does the same, 1.) I have replaced the 0.9 bar cap with 1.1 bar cap 2.) going to put the thermostat back with the jiggle valve at 6 o clock position. 3.) then replace radiator

if this all fails and still heat up, could this be a cracked head or are these heads not prone to cracking ?

also how do you checks for cracks ?? "pressure test" or Dye penetrate spray kit ???

any ideas ????

one more thing i am in Zambia so parts are scares and expensive

Put the thermostat back in (a new one if you can get it). The thermostat actually slows down the flow through the engine and radiator enough to promote good heat conduction. I've seen guys with race engines that put a plate with a hole cut in it in the thermostat location in order to slow down the flow and promote good cooling.
