How many 4unners do you own
I own 3 4runners.
1) The coveted 85 22RE which is now about 85% restored with a few little upgrades like LC intake and throttle body, 261 EB cam, header, 2.5" exhaust, upgraded disk brakes. In a word "awesome" truck.
2) 1996 Gen3 SR5 3.4L, 5 speed. I've only done the exhaust upgrade so far and bought the truck because I really like my 2000 tacoma SR5 TRD, with e-locker and supercharger. Initial impression is great street ride, but really don't think it can wheel with my 85 or tacoma with the locker. Front suspension has been PIA from the gitgo and PO didn't do anything but go skiing in this rig.
3) 08 Gen4 Sport edition V6 4runner 4x4. This is a street ride only. Probably could do some light wheeling but in my opinion it has way to many stupid safety features built in. And the heating and air will make you insane trying to get them to work the way you want them to. FWIW don't kid yourself if you think the GEN3 can run with this truck on the street. Ain't happening unless you go with a supercharger. If this truck has a bright spot it is the 5 speed auto tranny and 4.0L motor.
Interesting note on all three vehicles is they get about 20 MPG hiway and around 17 in town.
Each of these vehicles have a purpose for me and I like them all. That said if I could only have one it would be the 85. And having to do a few things over again I would have pulled the 22re and upgraded to a 5VZ, added an e-locker and been done with it.

just got my 86 1st gen right now.. kinda work in progress, my plan with it is to be my daily driver and drive nicely on the street but be one of the more capable rigs on the trail or on the sand. hopefully within a few more weeks ill be getting a 3rd or even 4th gen for the soon to be wife.. i like the styling more with the 3rd gen and i know that the 3.4 is a good solid motor.. but i hear that 4.OH is pretty nice also

We own two... My '98 SR5 and my sister's '99 Limited. Both with the 3.4 and e-locker My dad likes them so much that he is planning on getting a newer 3rd gen in the next few months
We do have a driveway full of Toyotas... My mom has an '08 Highlander Funny considering that growing up we were always a Dodge family. We still love them, but Toyota has been good to us.

My family definitely has a problem.
There are currently 5 4Runners in the driveway, if everyone's home.
L-R:
2002 Sport Edition
2001 Limited
1997 Limited
1996 SR5
1995 SR5
Previously, my parents had a 1994 SR5 and my sister used to have a 1989 SR5. That makes seven, total, since 1996. And I still have to stop and look when I see a 3rd gen for sale. It can get embarrassing when people come to my house. :o

I own 1 4Runner and 1 Sequoia, but my family and close friends own a lot of 4Runners.
Friend of mine has a '96 SR5 4WD (255K miles, just put in new engine)
My mother in law has a '97 Limited 2WD (198K miles and drives like new)
My dad had a '98 SR5 4WD
Friend aboves Dad has a '99 Limited 4WD
I have a 2000 SR5 4WD (only 87K miles on mine going for 250k+)
My Dad traded his '98 for a 2002 Limited 4WD, then he traded it for a 2006 Land Cruiser
We used to all go camping together...it was pretty funny...we looked like a 4Runner club.
