How hard would it be to fix these? *DUW*

These pics are of my old 81 yota that Im about to buy back. My question is, how hard is it to fix these problems?

The axel leaking is an easy fix, a kit from Marlin and a weekend can have that thing as good as new. But I would be very weary of all that rust. I've just never been a fan of body work and rust, that's why I gave up on my pipe dream of my 85 Runner and got a 97. But if you can do your own body work and the constant chase down of new rust spots, go for it.

i am so glad i live on the west coast! :D that rust seems like it would be a PITA to try to fix.

For the rust, Im just going to sand most of it down, then put sheet metal in the cab, pop rivet it down, then put fiberglass on the bottom.
