Hoping its the starter contacts

Ok, so I had previously posted about my taco's starting issues. It had been intermittent until this morning. It won't turn over at all. When the key is turned, something sounds like its spinning, which I think is the starter, but not 100%. My driveway is sloped so I was able to do a rolling start. I drove to work, parked, turned it off and it would not start back up. Only the spinning sound. All other electrical components work fine. From my reading it seems that that it's most likely the contacts. I'm having it towed home today since I can't work on it where it is. Is there anything else it could be? I have a shop that will do diagnostics for $70, but don't really wanna spend that unless I have too. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Need Advice

Try banging on the starter with a hammer. I have an intermittent starter and have to carry a hammer around with me.
For some reason I cannot get a good aftermarket starter, they all seem to fail. And Toyota doesn't make a rebuild kit for the 22r starters anymore. Can anyone offer some advice on my starter issues as well?

Newer contacts at the dealer.

For 22R starter contacts, 4crawler.com

Always rebuild OEM as they are much better than the aftermarket stuff.

1. Do I have to be turning the key at the same time or can I bang on it and then hop in and turn the key?

2. Anyone have OEM part #? I called today and the stealership told me they didn't have one and didn't know if they could even get it?

Tap on it. Then turn key.

My dealer carries that stuff in stock.

If you tap on it and it doesnt help, get someone to hold the key in the start position for you. Once you start banging on the starter, it should engage. Tell your key person to make sure not to release the key to quickly because it's guna be flooded and will need to turn over for a while before it'll actually run. It'll fire a few times but probably won't actualy start right away. Because the key is being held in the start position, the injectors are pre-firing to prime the engine for starting.

Any specific spot to bang on?

Wherever you can. You'll figure it out if it works!!! It doesn't have to be hard hits.
