HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Still wont start

:pat: After doing the deck plate mod my truck won't start. Let me give you the full break down of what I did. Cut the hole in the airbox, washed out plastic shavings with maf sensor still inside ( i know I shouldn't have done it but the one screw would not come out). Put it all back together and this is when I had problems. The truck will start only for about two seconds. I cleaned the MAf with electrical cleaner and I reseated the EFI fuses. It seems like its not getting fuel. My next move is to get and Olmmeter and test the MAF. A new MAF is about $150 that I don't want to spend if i don't have to. Help before I spend the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I would try starting the truck with the MAF sensor disconnected.....worst case is that it will throw a CEL and tell you the MAF is disonnected. That way you can see if the problem is actually related. Be sure to go over everything you actually touch (possibly even by accident) during the mod to see if you knocked any wires loose or anything is not attached properly. Just a bad MAF sensor is usually not enough to make the truck unable to start (I am assuming the truck turns over fine but just won't fire up).

Did you maybe pull a fuse and forget to put it back in?

Check all of your vacuum lines near where you were working if any and the connection b/w air box and throdle body.

Your symptoms sound like loss of vacuum.

If it will start for only 2 seconds, I'm willing to bet it IS your maf sensor. It's super delicate, and I bet it got damaged. The truck should however still run, just terribly. Start it, and give it gas, I bet you can keep it running (crappy, but running). Good call on testing the MAF.

Thanks

It worked! I tightened everything up one more time just to make sure. I started the truck and she still didn't want to run , but I kept giving her gas and then she decide to purr like a kitten. All it took was a little gas and the computer getting used to the extra air coming into the air box. THANKS for all your help!
