Help needed on Lifting my rig ?
Hey Guys,
Wondering if any of you would be able to give some advice. I had my runner lifted :D at the start of the year. I am running 33" muddies under the guards and going down rough terrein or someones drive way which has a big step, the wheels hit the fender. I have three options : 1) go down to 32" tyres which i don't want to do because the 33" look great and they are awsome off road. 2) have a 2" body lift which i am willing to do but am not to sure my insurance company will cover me for. 3) 1" body lift and pound my fender ? any ideas would be great, especially if i can get round the insurance company. 2" would be the max, otherwise it starts to look weird. (i already have 2" suspension) cheers guys Dan. |
Hi Dan, welcome to the board.
I have heard the recipe for running 33" tires on a 2nd gen 4Runner of truck of the same year is a 2" suspension lift (like you get form aftermarket rear coils and a mild T bar crank) and a 1" body lift. Maybe a tad of fender seam pounding is required to. Josh runs 33" Goodyear MT/R's on his 2nd gen. Maybe he will see this. Roger Brown has great aluminum bod mod lift kits. Here is his 4 sale section. With the 1" lift, you don't have to mess with the auto tranny linkage if you have an auto. 2" and you have to lengthen the shifter, and relocate other stuff too. |
