I measure 12.2" on the wheel side and 12.6" on the engine side where the very end of the coil touches the strut tower. Looking from the front, I measure 18.5" from the underside of the mounting plate down to the center of the lower shock mounting bolt. Those measurements are with a 1" spacer between the coilover and the upper mount.
Measure his overall length like I did.

The 12" dim seems very close to yours. He mentioned to me that even a passenger in the truck creates constant rubbing on the rear of the wheel well. I bounced the truck today and it seems to have travel up and down.

No ....other than maybe the aftermarket A arms are in some way throwing something off. They are adjustable from what the website says
And if course......the urethane bushings are squeeking like mad. He also has one of those hefty ARB 3 hundred pound front bumpers on the truck. Maybe monday i'll slide under there for a better look.

is there a possibility that the adjustable ball joint in the upper control arms is set wrong? Could that be what is making the tires rub on the back edge of the wheel well?

My guess is that the balljoint can be set in a few different ways. When i see the ads for those UCA's.... they say adjustable. Maybe the balljoint has a centric shape that moves the position when spun? Look at the pics on page 1

I don't know how members we have on here but I know Yotatech is the first thing that pops up when you search the net for anything Toyota related. Tell them that, for whatever reason, IT JUST AIN"T RIGHT, and they need to handle it. I know nothing of Big O other than, based on this thread, I'll never do any business with them if they don't come up with a solution to this. Tell them they are earning a poor reputation in this community and they can remedy that quickly by looking into his issue.

1. What I'm sure is wrong is the orientation of the UBJ plate, the flat face should be facing out, not the rounded face. The flat face has the SPC stamp on it. BTW, where are the ABS lines?
2. Not sure on this but it looks like the UCAs were placed on the wrong side of the truck. I mean that the LH UCA should be placed on the driver side of the truck, not the passenger side, and vice versa.
3. The coils springs seem to be too short and too soft.

I don't know how in the world, I missed that UBJ plate. It was right there in front of me in the pictures. That's what he is going to need in order to force them to rework their install at no charge. I'm not seeing a potential left to right issue but I'm not real familiar with those UCAs.
I sure agree that the coils are bad. I would take them a new assembled set when they rework the upper ball joints. He can put his upper spacer back on but do away with that busted up lower one. There will be no need for it after replacing the springs with fresh ones.
