Got my Inverter today...Where are ya'll gonna mount yours?

Well, at long last, I finally got it. Here's where I think I'll mount it...

I'm gonna mount the inverter to a piece of 6" x 10.5" x 3/8" plywood and then carpet it to match my carpet. I'm not wild about the idea of mounting the inverter directly onto the plastic, because I know it's gonna get hot. Should give me easy access for my wiring since it's right next to that seatbelt panel. What do ya'll think? Any other ideas? Later.

i think its looks like a cool spot for it.

im not sure what youre going to run off it, but what if you need to run some power tools for use in the front of your car, are you going to carry an extension cord?

im not going to hardmount mine so that i can retain the portability of the inverter. i can plug into the cig socket in ther rear, either of the three up front, or directly to the battery. heck, i can even move mine to another vehicle.

but i do like your idea for mounting.

Hi-fi buys took the inverter I bought apart and mounted it in my center arm rest. If you have a local tweeter and have $90 you could do what I did and have them put these switches in which also go to my tv's.

Ryan,
I plan on running an extension cord under the back seat and along the passenger side of the truck, up to the passenger floor board. It will be neatly stowed away under the carpet until it's needed to run a laptop, drill, etc. I know I'll never use mine plugged into the cig lighter, and I don't want to have to worry about moving the inverter everytime I haul something, so I'm just gonna get it out of the way. Paul, I love your idea but mine is too big to go into the center console and I really don't want to give anyone $90 to install it. Sweet idea though, it looks great.
