Got Bilsteins and AT Revo's, alignment necessary?
So I got my Bilsteins from Central 4WD in Kent, WA. (can't remember the $$)
Then I special ordered my Bridgestone AT Revos (265 70R16) from Costco in Issaquah ($553 total). And both places did great! The guys at Central were really cool and Costco installed the tires properly. (no vibrations above 60/70 mph) I think I read that I need an alignment in some other posts here. So do I need to get all four aligned or just the front two? How does that work? Also, if anyone in the greater Seattle area could let me know where to go, I would appreciate it! Not sure if I want to go to a stealership. Central 4WD doesn't do alignments. thanks! Will post pics later! 4Runna |
I usually get a new front end alignment when getting new tires. I usually justify doing this by thinking "$500-650 on new tires, $50-75 to align them and prevent improper/premature wear". Maybe that is just a bunch of fertilizer - but I feel better.

I was just told from the dealership that with a solid axle in the back, you can't get a 4-wheel alignment done. So they just did a two wheel on mine.
btw i just put in new springs and shocks. Which is why i got my alignment. I'm not sure about just shocks itself. I'm pretty positive you don't need an alignment if you just got new tires. |
