Gas mileage on 88 4runner with 33s(4 cyl. manual)

What do you think that gas mileage would be on an 88 4runner manual, 4cylinder. 33s and a 4 inch suspesnion lift 2 inch body lift? like 18-20mpg?

Why are you asking? is it regeared? my buddies 88 gets 15-18mpg w/33s but he runs 4.56s, a header, a k&n cold air and polished manifold.

I get 18-20 mpg in mine. :P

Tacoma750 04-04-2005 05:28 PM

it is regeared. A header and flowmasters or downey exhaust will be added soon

I get 20 mpg easy now that im running 4.88's. Before it was more like 17mpg. I only have a 2 inches of lift though. Those 4 extra inches will suck somemore gas though...

14 - 17 with mine

I have a bout 2.5" of lift and I have 33x10.50 bfg AT's
I have a thorley header, K&N FIPK, hi flow cat, flowmaster 40, and 2.25" piping

I have 4.88's in the diffs and I get 18-20 (Mostly 18)

When I had a 4 inch bracket lift I got 17-19. I attribut this to the drag.

I also have a celica for daily driving and it got 26 mpg with massive rod knock. Got a new motor and can't wait to see what i get out of it.

I was getting (when I had my 4runner) 18-20 (depending on amount of lead in foot) and sometimes 25 on highway (if I stayed about 60-65mpg). I didnt have the body lift. But I had a 6" suspension and 33 BajaClaw Radials with steels wheels and about 800pounds of added weight from bumpers, sliders, and tools/equipment. However, I did adjust the timing and ran premium gas witht he AFM mod. Everything else was stock. including gears.

what is and how do you do the afm mod?
