full-time 4wd?

hey guys, do 4runners, in the 1990-96 range have part-time or full-time 4WD? Im interested in buying a used 4runner in this year range but have always been a jeep guy, so am not too familiar with the toyota drivetrain. What transfer cases does Toyota use in their vehicles? And has anyone/is it possbile to swap t-cases like I've done on my jeep?
thanks.

Part-time.

Not sure about the rest.

depends on a few things...........are you looking at a manual or auto stick??, do you plan on dual tcase setups??

if youre worried about strength the toyota tcases are pretty stout units and generally dont need to be swapped out because of any weaknesses

all '79-95.5 trucks and 4runners have part time, passenger drop cases
'79-95 cases from trucks without drive flanges(ADD) are all stout gear driven units, with a 21 spline input shaft
'86-88 cases from a turbo 4cyl truck are even better, with a 23 spline input
all '88-95.5 trucks with a v6 have a weaker chain driven case
4cyl pickups from '89-95 with ADD have an oddball 26 spline chain drive case, USELESS!

probably wrong on a few points, but i covered most of the bases
