Looking good Lee! Looks like you used the Hammerite paint as they aren't completely black. That's the same stuff I used and it is pretty durable once you get a few coats on there.

lee Feb 21, 2006 04:57 AM

nice, yeah i think thats what i used (i'll verify) it was actually cheaper, and i like the way it looks.

i bought 5 cans, 1.5 used so far, gonna use another 2 tonight. ill keep one in the truck for touchups as necessary.

Intrepid Feb 21, 2006 05:09 AM

I thought you just used a semi-flat black...

lee Feb 21, 2006 05:12 AM

hah no i had 1 can of that which i ended up using for my dad's shed (trim was chipping so i redid it in black).

so i bought new ones.

ill check which ones i got at my lunch hr.. i think theyre still in my truck.

shazaam Feb 21, 2006 06:12 AM

throw some more coats on now .. it'll help it from not rusting.

looks good though

lee Feb 21, 2006 06:14 AM

thanks. like i said, tonight ill do the next coat. ill do another one if it looks necessary.

jethro Feb 21, 2006 08:29 AM

Damn lee, your truck has taken a real transformation lately. The new sliders look great. I still say take the stickers off the TJM to help it match the color of your truck, but either way the bumper looks beefy. :great:

You got a money tree growing in your backyard? :bigok:

lee Feb 21, 2006 08:59 AM

hahah

i wish. i got to experience both clean street queen truck-ness, and now im going the complete opposite direction... i was gonna start a thread demonstrating how dangerous YT can be :D

i stopped buying anything else for myself and dump every dime after rent and bills into my truck

but now im saving up for skids, a small spacer lift and a locker. once i get those i can take a break :)

Bob_98SR5 Feb 21, 2006 09:21 AM

bob

no shipping.. its a company (www.foxfab4x4.com) who's owner (mike) is taking a break from fab work to do a private project. he'll start fabbing once its complete. since we had a large enough order, he agreed to make some of these DOM sliders for a few of us NE4ROC guys. $200 bucks.. a steal for their quality and design. :)

and youre right, i like to kid myself into thinking i wont want bigger tires, even more lift, even better this or that! :con:

BADLNDS Feb 21, 2006 09:47 AM

looking good lee...I like the way your trucks going.

did the TJM bumper drop your lift much in the front? (u still have the pp springs and billies?)

-B

lee Feb 21, 2006 09:49 AM

not noticeably. if it did, it more than made up for it by giving far more clearance than the stock bumper and brush guard combo.

yes, pp's and billies are still in :)

shoot......sounds like I missed the boat on that one.

I looked on his website and he sells them as a premade kit but unwelded.

lee Feb 21, 2006 09:58 AM

yup.

he gives you the legs, and thats it. but we're lucky to have a good welder in ne4roc/ttora-ne :)

Intrepid Feb 21, 2006 10:06 AM

Yeah, we had a group buy between ne4roc and ttora-ne, it wasn't really publicized anywhere else, I am not sure why. He didn't ship them, we sent someone to pick them up, then distributed them by everyone taking a couple pairs and dropping them off with buyers that lived near them! It worked sweet! I am a big fan of the cross country relay to save on shipping!
Hell, I bought a soft top on here from a guy in PA, he decided that he didn't want to ship, so he drove up and met a guy I don't even know from Yankee Toys who was going to Paragon, that guy picked it up for me while he was in the area, then he brought it back to CT, now a ttora-ne member is getting it from him in in CT and bringing it up to me in MA at the next event we have. I love it!

I think what lee really needs is better backspaced rims to widen his stance. Or at least he needs to learn to take pictures from an angle that doesn't make it obvious. :D

lee Feb 21, 2006 10:11 AM

im not gonna sit there and angle myself/camera to make something that isnt there appear to be there!

but yea, i know i was thinking that too.

when i up my tire size after i go higher, ill get black rims with that kind of backspacing... too much thought and not enough $$$ for me to get into now though!

99_Runner Feb 21, 2006 10:11 AM

Looks really good.

Nono, you are just taking it in the best light. For example, if you get a side shot of me, I look pregnant and it is anyones geuss whether my nose sticks out further than my gut or not, therefore, it is best for me to get pictures taken from the front...or back, as Eds wife likes to take them. :ignore: Not trying to make my gut go away, just not show it off, focus people on a different attribute.
