Flowmaster
Well I called a local exhaust company.. and asked how much it would be for them to put in a flowmaster muffler... high-flow cat... and then the 2.5 tubing right from the headers to the end and they said around $500
Haha sounds pretty damn pricey to me |
That sounds about right to me.

Hmm a flowmaster muffler is about $80-90...
How much is a high-flow cat? Is this a good high-flow? http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/P...odelId-5001801 And what do you want for the high-flow? A two way or a three way? So just the muffler and the high-flow are about $210... Is the piping pretty expensive? I would purchase the headers somewhere else... Ian |
Is your stock cat defective? If not then you are not going to see a much from a high-flow cat. I would get a Carsound cat from ebay if you need one. I got mine for $57 shipped. As for the muffler, you can get a magnaflow or similar off ebay for a good deal too. So, you are at about $125. Custom piping runs about $250 or so. So, you are right around $400 by getting all that stuff yourself and having it installed.
I would not exceed 2.25" if you have the 4cyl BTW. Keep in mind that most exhaust shops will not weld on stuff you bring them. I think its pretty lame myself, but that is what I have found. You will need to call around. If I was you, I would get a magnaflow or similar muffler welded in place of the stock muffler and see how you like it. That right there should be under $100. |
i got mine done for $235 at a local shop here in ga

Does flowmaster not sound as good with an auto 4cyl?
Why do you recommend the magnaflow? Thanks Ian |
I just named magnaflow because they are a reputable brand. Flowmaster is cool too. Whatever floats your boat (or rig).
Remember, not too big on the piping. |
