Fixed after my insurance incidents, new rear axle....

Got in two accidents in january (got t-boned and rearended, so both weren't my fault). My rear axle was messed up and making some noises, I fought with insurance and after a couple of weeks they admitted there was something wrong and cut me a check.

Old: 5.29 elocker

New: 5.29 detroit :D and new bearings on my junkyard axle.

Started yesterday morning at 9am to fix the runner from its insurance woes.

First took out the old axle and stripped it apart.

Now here comes the fun part, doing the bearings on my new junkyard axle............ we had to make our own tool to bolt the bearing cup to to press it out.

Special Service Tool

Got the drivers side completely done, I have done the initial break in on the gears, and waiting to do the passenger side bearings

almost done

right on. Glad to see you get at least something good out of a bad situation. Out of curiousity what is the distance roughly from center to center of you panhard drop bracket?

DUDE!! u could have choped a chunk of the old axle off to make the SST.. what do you want for your old cable lock setup.. thats you who made that right

edit. were you not runing the panhand drop before? or just not welded?

old axle = non abs, new axle = abs........ i wanted a non abs axle, but this one was already pulled and i wanted it fixed as soon as i could...... the axle shafts are different between the two.

I may have the old cable locker sold with the elocker diff.

added the drop, never had one.

What's the damage from the T-bone? Did your sliders keep the damage minimal?

it mostly hit his tire... like $84 worth of body work from that. although it was that impact that caused all the axle and diff damage
