Fitting Magnaflow Muffler with 2.5" I/O to OEM Pipe Question
I got the Magnaflow 22" - 5"x11" muffler (P/N 12586 http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...e=main&id=8448 ) which has the 2.5" I/O pipe, and my question is, will I be able to slip the OEM pipe, which I think is 2.25", inside the muffler pipe and just clamp it down or do I need to get some kind of adapter? Thanks.

I wouldn't clamp exhaust, it leaks like a SoB. but if you have 2.25 piping, and the muffler is 2.50, it should slide on fairly easy, but i'd weld it.

x2. If you don't have a welder, it shouldn't cost you more then $50 from an exhaust shop to have it welded up if you are supplying the muffler and you don't need new pipe bent.

Yes, and If you're gonna pay a muffler shop weld it up, you might as well spend another $50-100 and have them bend 2.5 all the way out.
Good call, good call. But there goes the whole idea of fixing the exhaust for cheap, right? :D |
yea 2.5'' will be fine if ur supercharged

Well I'm not SC'd so I can't see it making any difference. I guess what I'm asking is will a clamp compress the 2.5" pipe enough to create a good seal over the stock pipe. Thanks for the input though.

have it welded on exhaust leaks are annoying

Weld it. |
Weld it.
This is my 2.5 magnaflow on my 2.25 stock pipe http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y17...t/IMG_0413.jpg |
After that pic, I say clamp PROBABLY won't work, lol. You would have to grab some reducers, and extra clamps.
Or weld it. :D |
