fender flares

i have a 2002 sr5 and looking for fender flares like the ones on the limited edition. i see that one of the members here has a nice looking 2001 sr5 and has the flares without the body cladding. just curious...i thought only limited editions come with these flares and body cladding. however, this member does not have the body cladding with the flares. where can i get this?

any info/comments would be appreciated.

I think they dropped the cladding in '99 on the limiteds, but not 100% sure on that. The closest aftermarket flares to them are the Bushwacker Extend-a-Flares. They are available from many truck/suv accessory stores, but I think JC Whitney has the best price, look here

Also, you can search for 2 different members here that I know have pics of them on their 4Runners, Jonathan, and Wild Bill, look them up from the members list and then follow links to their pics. Hope this helps.

Check my signature for the link to my Webshots account. I have plenty of pics of the Bushwackers. I think in 2000 or 2001 you could get the SR5 package with waht they called sport flares, which are basically the limited flares without the cladding down the side.

SR5 flares are a little different than limited ones, different flares and runningboard endcaps as well. I'd look into junkyards, or go with bush wackers. and all limiteds had body cladding until 02.

I have the limited flares on my sr5, without the body cladding.
I have been told this was part of a SPORT package for the sr5.
Might have come with the leather option from the factory w/the 16 inch wheels.
They are referenced on this board on 3rd gens as "Sport Flares"

They are much wider than the sr5 flares but don't have that ugly cladding stuff on the doors...

thanks for the compliments!

i'm not really sure how my rig has the flares, i bought it used in october... however, i was under the impression that in '01 and '02 almost all runners with leather had the limited style flares??

i could be wrong...

thanks for all the info. the sr5 "sport flares" definitely look better than the sr5 flares. not much into the body cladding myself.

anyone know what flares "satoshi" put on his?

I'm hoping to replicate the look of the newer 3rd gens once I get my Bushwackers on which I've decided to paint a nice glossy black instead of the plain plastic. I know it'll lend itself to showing scratches from off roading but it won't bug me too much. My friend (pro body guy) is doing the paint and install for $100 and my running boards will be off also and that'll save me more money for sliders.
