Hey, very cool so far. It am guessing that you are not done yet. Some things that I have noticed is that on the opening page, I would make the whole logo a hotspot, so you can click it to enter, not just the words. Also, I would consider using another color or a background, because the white theme is very overwhelming. Other than that and that you have to finish pictures and links, I think it is a great start. Just my opinions though, don't be mad! :fireman:

It's a lot better than before, the intro coincides with what your site is all about (better than the flash you had before).
Ryan had some good ideas about the logo linking to your homepage (not just the words). And I would also agree about the color white. I have always found the color used on this forum is a lot easier on the eyes. Great job so far, looking forward to the final production! |
Good looking page! I would add some more eye popping graphics to the page though.
Just my .02 cents. Later, Josh |
Hey thanks Josh, ya know I am just not a web designer and trying to build as I go if you know what I mean....anyway, I am working on it as we speak...check it in a little while :D
Thanks for looking! |
No problem! I would post some of your rigs at work! Looked good for a beginner.
|
Alright everyone, did a little bit more...do you all find it difficult to read with the background? Do you think maybe a solid color? I appreciate everyone taking the time to help me out!!

I like the colors and the font! One thing I don't like is that you have to click on your logo to even enter the site. I hate doing that. I think it would be better if it just went to the main page. It does it at wild yoats also and it is annoying. Keep up the good work.

How about a redirect like some sites use.
Have your logo show for 5 seconds, then automaticaly take you to your 2nd page? I don't know code for it, but I'm sure you can get it from looking at an example such as Rob's (WATRD) Wa. state TTORA site. www.wattora.com OK, I found the code: <META HTTP-EQUIV="refresh" CONTENT="3; URL=http://www.wattora.com/main.asp"> I am not sure if more needs to be put in or not... Let me load this up in a quick webpage I'll make for a test. Please stand by :D ... YES! I made a page and put the above code in Mike, and it works great. http://www.pnw4runners.net/test/redirect_test.htm Click the above URL, and in a few seconds you will end up on my main page. The code has the #3 in it. I would imagine that means 3 seconds. You can modify it to what you want. Cool. This is how I have learned most of my webpage building techniques by studying other pages, and playing around with the source code. Try it on yours Mike. Just open up your page that has the logo on it and insert this into with Windows Notepad after the "head" near the top. <META HTTP-EQUIV="refresh" CONTENT="3; URL=http://www.xtremeoff-road.com/home.htm"> I think it will look sharp having your logo load first, then redirect to your main page. As usual I would have to agree with Mr C., he's got some good ideas there. Liked the change from the old page to the new style, and the most recent changes are yet more of an improvement.
You're on the right road to a VERY well designed site, keep it up. Damned,,,I sound like one of my high school teachers :D |
He he, thanks...
Hey, where is Mike tonight? Corey :mrc: |
Besides all the stuff that has been already mentioned...
I'm not quite sure about the implied line for the menu. It could be a look your going for, but I generally like to know where the menu ends and the page starts. Also, since you went with the grey background you could also reverse the Logo page. I think it work better white/red on black than black/red on white. Other than that, great page! I prefer the simple cut to the chase designs to the crazy this that and the other sites... espcially when i'm trying to get info on something I might be buying. Just my .02, good job!:bigok: |
Ok, I made a test page up for ya Mike using that code above.
Put your index page on my server, then watch what happens. http://www.pnw4runners.net/test/test_for_mike/ I like :D Corey |
Thanks a lot Corey, that is a great idea!
