Evap system Not Ready
 

Just had some work done to the Evap system on my 2001 4Runner. How long does it take for the code to go back to Ready? Need to get my truck inspected. Is there a way for a tech to reset it to Ready?

Use a code scanner to clear the code. If it comes back, there is still a problem.

I had someone runner the scanner but it showed no codes but when I went through inspection, no codes showed up but it the Evap showed Not Ready. Is there a way that can be reset?

Alright, then you may need to drive the truck more to encounter all the conditions that activate the evap system. I was reading that some states will allow you to pass inspection with up to one or two systems not ready. Check your local regs to find out if yours is one of them. I couldn't tell from your post if the "not ready" status caused a test failure or not.
