estimate/guesstimate on stealership cam install price?

does anyone know how much the dealership usually charges to install a camshaft on a 22re?

My guess would be $300 - $500. Why don't you call and ask?

Let us know what they say.

just curious...figured u guys would know....i've been back and forth down there several times lately and didn't wanna aggrevate them nemore than i already have...thanks though

Forget that man, aggrivate the heck out of them. They deserve it!

Cam installs are not too bad in my opinion. You could buy all the tools and the FSM for the price it will cost you to have it installed. Just a thought.

I put a cam in my 95 Civic SI in about 3 hours.

thing that sucks is that i'm not allowed to work on my vehicle here at my apt complex...and i don't really feel all that comfortable on changing the cam myself...i just moved here recently for school and don't know anyone that could help with the install nor any reputable mechanics...i don't even recall seeing any independant shops around here...i figured i'd just eventually get the dealership to do the install since they "know what they're doing"...
later

Another thought is to catch one of the techs as they get off work and offer to pay them some cash on the side. Or, call up a local speed shop.

Where are you located?
