emergency brake light wont shut off after lift install.
the emergency brake light wont turn off after i installed the SS #1.51 lift.
we installed the new brakeline and bled the brakes and the light is still on. everything looks and feels fine in the brakes. any suggestions? |
It sounds simple, but did you fill the master cylinder?? They are pretty hearty on the fluid.
|
My 99 runner is very sensitive to the brake fluid level. If it dips even a tiny bit under the full line, my e-brake light will not turn off. All I have to do is fill it to the "full" line on the brake resevior, pump the brakes a few times and the light turns off.

im pretty sure its all the way full.
ill go check now. |
just started it and the light was off.
im not sure what was up. |
i no on my 85 theres a little sensor where the cable is clamped on the the "stick" that you pull to engage the ebrake.
|
yeah i thought that was it.
i pushed the button and even unplugged it. it still stayed on. it was probably an issue with the brake fluid level. |
i couldt get the front done because no shops were open on saturdays to compress the coilovers today.
stupid. |
So does your 4runner look like a stink bug :hillbill:
|
haha yes. very, with 265's on it.
the ride is good though. i like the stiffness of the lancruiser coils and shocks. |
how is your flowmaster 50?
i have the 40 and its LOUD. i was going to put a resonator on it to tone it down a bit. is the 50 loud in the cabin because the drone on the 40 is crazy. |
it might be the fluid level.
but there might be some tension from the lift on the e-brake. like SS's e-brake relocation bracket relieves tension off the brake after a lift is applied..... and i think you said you had LC coil's so you musta gotten a considerable amount of lift that could affect it. |
yeah i installed the parking cable bracket.
the light went off after about 15 miles of driving. |
TRDrunner~
The 50 series I have sounds pretty good I think...its a little more mellow but still sounds mean. In the cabin you can hear it a little bit but not bad at all (and thats with the stereo off). I had a 40 on my 94 4runner and the 50 is for sure quiter in the cabin. I would definetly recomend a 50 series!! I dont know how much quiter the resenator will do for your 40 as far as sound in the cabin. If you dont like the 40 I would just go with the 50 :bigok: I love mine! |
