i have been researching like crazy and now i believe i have it all together. please tell me what you think.

rear:
e locker fully set up with precision 4.88s
includes doner ecu, switch and wiring

all set up by a reputable professional

the only other expenses i can see needing would be the studs to modify my rear axle housing some extra wiring if needed and new fluid. total would probably be around 2400 for the whole project. YIKES. but i know i want gears and am sure i will love the lockers. my drivetrain mods would be essentially complete accept for manual hubs and maybe the gadget valve body upgrade from level 10.

im doing some addition and it seems like its a pretty good deal. i would also have my old rear 3rd to sell for a few bux.

what do you think?

Seems a little pricey to me, but maybe I'm just not factoring in the 4.88's.

thats what i was thinking too but when i start adding all the parts and labor i need for gears, it seems right. i guess my other option is to just get gears and leave out the lockers for now but what fun is that? plus i would be paying labor twice.

I am in 1165 for my dual arbs and 4.88's......

500 front arb 4.88 diff
500 rear arb
100 compressor
250 yukon 4.88's for regearing rear
175 for labor (2 locker set ups, and a regear)
-300 front diff
-60 for rear gears

if your going with manual hubs, i suggest a locker up front not the limited slip.... I have had my front tires off of the ground many times, and the LS wont help you there. Your also gonna have to cut out part of your housing for the elocker.

I do a fair amount of street driving in 4hi due to snow so i didnt want to do an auto locker upfront. I dont really want to deal with air for the arbs. i thought they were much more expensive then that. im 100% down to mod the rear axle. ive read alot of info on that and it seems very do able.

As said I would just get the air lockers, then you get a compressor for On board air as well. Plus then you will have a front locker instead of the limited slip.

Well air wasn't a problem, I have only had two problems with mine, one was user error during the install and the other was a o-ring. And the wiring for the arb mini compressor was very easy and I was quite impressed with it.

All mine are used, (minus rear gears and air compressor)

i could also leave my front diff open i guess. still not sold on needing the ARBs. im trying to keep things simple with a factory elocker and a lunchbox upfront. anyone else have any price comparisons?

really arbs would be best then you would get FULL LOCLERS AND YOU CAN TURN THEM BOTH OFF ONE OFF ANYTHING
easy to install dont have to modify rear axle!!!!!!!

simplicity, cost and relying on air lines are what is keeping me away from arbs. i like that the e locker is a factory option and the lsd up front is self contained. weather its arbs or elocker and truetrac, its still ifs.

i suppose i could still be talked into arbs. ive looked into them and understand the benefits but the cost prohibitive when re-gearing at the same time.

east coast gear supply elocker rear is like 950ish shipped (with 4.88's).

I'd go elocker rear and arb front.... Thats what I a running now and love it
