Does anyone know what backspacing I need for 315's?

I have a 2" body lift on the wife's 4runner and a 3"cornfed spacer going in this week to clear the 315 bfg AT's. I was going to try the stock rims and feel that out, but a guy has a nice set of rims locally for $200 that are 16x9 with 4.5" backspacing. Will those work without too much rubbing?
Thanks

Either of the rims that you mentioned have pretty much the same BS (OEM being 4 5/8"). You'll more than likely rub at the frame (firewall side) at full lock. If you've got running boards then you'll likely rub them while turning too. Also there's a chance of rubbing at the pinch weld though you may have enough BL to avoid it.

So the 9" rim being wider won't aleviate the rub compared to the 7" stock rim?

Nope, not for contact at the frame it won't. It actually makes the rubbing more of an issue around the pinch weld too. Rubbing at the frame only occurs at full lock so it's not that big of a deal. If you had a wheel with a BS under 4" you might be okay at the frame but in a 9" wide rim it will make rubbing at the pinch weld that much more prone. I'm assuming we're talking about the wheel being mounted on a 315 x 75 - 16" (or 35"x12.50"-16") tire right?

yep that is the tire. I was hoping with the body lift and the 3' suspension that i would clear the pinchweld.. I was a lot more concerned about rubbing on the upper control arms.

Well I'm running 9" wide wheels (4.5" BS) with 35" Baja Claws and have no problem clearing the UCA's. I have probably got a 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch of clearance there. When I had 285/75 Revo's on the stock rims I had about the same clearance as I do now with the bigger tires and wider rims at the UCA's so obviously the wider wheel basically pulls the inward side of the tire/tread area away from the UCA's to help compensate for the wider tire. The combination of having 315's on the OEM rims though may be a different story. I'm pretty sure that you'd be hitting the UCA's right away. A tire's tread design may be an issue too as some have bigger lugs at the shoulder which could interfere with clearance as well.

You should be fine for clearing the pinch weld with that amount of lift too BTW with either set-up.
