That is it. Unplug it and no more DRLs. I recently plugged mine back in because when I hooked up my PIAA driving lights they did not behave properly with it unplugged. Anyone have any ideas/knowledge about this?
Mason Dixon, where in Huntsville are you? |
My drl's are affecting a new dvd/stereo headunit, so this should fix it thanks guys!
JMT83, I'm actually in Madison, you? |
I'm off Providence Main Street.
I'm going to be upgrading my head unit soon, how are the DRLs affecting yours? |
Turns out its not my drl's...... its a funny little wiring problem tho that i'm trying to straighten out, guess i gotta call the manufacturer.
|
My plug for the DRL's are in between the battery and the fender. It's a gray connector. I had mine unplugged a few years back with no problems but ended up plugging them back in.

i recently installed a hi/lo hid kit on my 2000 4runner. i'm not sure if all the kits are the same but the way mine wires in it plugs into the factory headlight harness on the dr/batt side and then runs from that side to the pass side headlamp leaving the pass side headlamp harness unplugged. i tried unplugging the resistor box, tried removing the drl fuse, and still the drl's remain on. what other options do i have? anyone else had this problem or know how to solve it? i really want to stay away from cutting wires.

the drl box on my 2000 ltd is on the batt side between the bat and on fender simply unplug it
|
yea i tried unplugging that box and it didnt help i think it is becuase of the hi/lo hid kit i installed.the way mine wires in it plugs into the factory headlight harness on the dr/batt side and then runs from that side to the pass side headlamp leaving the pass side headlamp harness unplugged. not sure why this would matter but unplugging that box has no effect. there is a seperate relay that wires in with the hid kit because of the plunging bulb that adjusts where the light goes when you put the high beams on.
