Converting 60/40 bench to buckets

Hey, I am looking to get some buckets for my 95 Tacoma. I have the 60/40 bench in there right now. I was wondering if anyone has taken the driver's seat in the 60/40 bench and cut it to make it a bucket. I was toying with the idea of doing that and having it re-upholstered instead of getting a whole new seat.

I know that in my brothers 93 truck(base model 4x4) he just took the bench seat out, bought some used SR5 buckets, cleaned them up and then installed them. There was a small piece of steel bar needed to bolt down the slider assembly properly, but it was a very easy switch.

I'd say call/look around for some bucket seats from another tacoma!

I thought about that once actually, but if you cut it you would still have that bar in the middle, unless you fabbed up another slilder bar for the pass side seat.
Also, my thoughts are that it would be too much trouble cutting and re-upholstering yada. By that time you could already have a pair of buckets in there.
Civic and integra seats i heard were good swap canidates, but thats on like 3rd gen pickups.

Isuzu rodeo seats fit nicely....and they are more comfortable than the yota buckets...imo

Yea, it would be easier just to find buckets. Is there a lot of fab work required for the civic/integra/Rodeo seats?

for civic integra seats
(this is speaking on me reading previous threads) In an 89-95 they are a smiple swap, just an extra hole needs to be drilled.
Something you might try looking for, a wrecked 3rd gen 4runner, seems to me those would be an easy swap since us older skool guys take the 2nd gen runner seats and put in our trucks.
ya know...?
