Youre master cylinder is going bad. it will need to be replaced soon. There is realy nothing else you can do. I have tried rebuilding mine, but had no luck.(it went bad within a month) :pat: Replacing it with a new one was my best option. Its not a very hard fix it just takes a bit of patience to bleed the system. Hope this helps.

It's a good possiblilty your clutch master cylinder needs to be replaced.
I had the same thing happen with my 84 Camry. My carpet is permanently stained because of it.
It turned out that I needed to replace the clutch master cylinder-it was going bad. I tried to rebuild the original, but it didn't work. I ended up buying a new one from the dealership. It was a very easy job to do on my car. I would think it should be fairly simple for a 4Runner too.

My 84 Camry's booster bit the bullet a few months back. If I remember correctly, it was around $400.00 from the dealership.
I got an aftermarket replacement.

Actually the dealer wants $1100 for a new booster. Needless to say I got a booster and master cylinder off of a '94 for $125 that I think I can make work.
