CAGED - 1988 4Runner
 

For those of you interested in cages for your 2nd Gens, UpNOver Innovations ( www.upnover.com ) in Aston, PA did a fantastic job building a cage for my 4Runner.

I opted for an 8pt cage

VERY NICELY BUILT - welds look clean and strong - innovative design too...I am impressed.

how much did they charge you for all that?And how long was your truck there?

The cage was in the $700.00 range and they had the truck for 2 weeks. However, one week was all trial and error and measuring to get it right. The final week was the build. I would say that it would probably take a week now.

You should see it in person! It really gives you ALL of your room that you have.

Jon- I was looking at your sig line and I'm not sure you have enough rigs. Who has more now, you or Frank?

Wow, that looks really nice! They did a great job making it fit nice and tight against the body so it's not in the way.

Sadly enough, the 1987 will be leaving me shortly. I've sold it to another Krawler who will put it to very good use.:great:

I've had to make some tough decisions and one was to take the Animal out of commission after this season. It's been incredible but I can't fit the family in it. Therefore, the build on the 88. I did it right this time with the 2" BL to get everything up and out of the way first and then add the cage.

So then the cage is tied directly to the frame not the body? If so did you make a solid mount body lift? If not why would it matter if you did the BL after the cage or vise-versa?

I think 4 qualifies as a "fleet" :D

Cage looks great Jon! What's up with the Krawler site. I couldn't get on

The cage is not YET tied into the frame. I wanted the BL on in order to tuck the trans/t-case and especially the gas tank up a bit. It matters because the body w/the cage would have a lot heavier.
