burned spark plug wires, now running rough
 

i got my truck tuned up at pep boys(replaced wires also). a few days later the truck starts running really rough and blowing smoke. turns out they didnt use a harness so my spark plug wires got burned on something that gets very hot.(very badly burned, all plastic coating was gone in about a 1/2" strip)

i brought my truck to toyota to get new wires. they installed them with a harness so there not touching anything hot.

the problem is that the truck is still running rough(the whole truck shakes) for about 15 seconds at startup only. then like a minute after starting will blow smoke for about 1 minute.

after that it runs fine. anyone have any idea what this is? i already have like 400 bucks into this damn tuneup. i dont want to just drop it off at toyota they rape me. i dont really trust anyone else either.

I would take it back to Pep Boys just to bitch about the wire setup they screwed you with. Also if they ran the tune up they should be able to do a free follow up and find out what is wrong. Then fix that problem yourself if they want to charge you for it.

wow $400 for a tuneup thats alot ,learn how to do it yourself
