bumpers and sliders

I will put picks up as soon as I have them, I'm getting a front bumper and sliders from 4xinnovations but I still need a rear bumper. I'll probably go with the tubed style that many of the first and second gens run with the side protection but where can I get one? I've checked with some fab shops and they want too much so now I'm trying to find something before we go wheeling in a couple weeks or at least asap. Any suggestions? ANy fab shops in socal that do good work for a decent price? thanks guys for any info.

good luck on the install of the front bumper, I know people who have had problems with them (3+ peeps), supposedly he has fixed the problem

We are developing bolt on front and rear tube bumpers for the 3rd gen 4Runners as we speak. I will post up some pics for you tomorrow. We should have our official grand opening mid July. The front will have a winch mount, front receiver and D-Ring mounts. The rear will have a receiver and D-Ring mounts too.

I can't wait to see the pics. Hopefully when you start building you won't have a 3 month lead time. :stir:

What do you guys think?

As far as lead time, we are trying to make a few for stock before the orders start coming in. If they are popular, we will do our best to keep up.

The photos are of our first prototypes. The production bumpers will have laser cut and press bent brackets and DOM tubing.

1. I think your D-Ring mounting points should be thicker, as in 1/2"-3/4" whatever the opening of the standard D-Ring is.
-overall looks to be well built

2. When you 'officially' bring this to market, be sure to become a sponsoring member. I take it your shop is 'Elite Auto Service' (6x's)

My two cents

malteserunner 06-17-2009 05:58 PM

Yeah, we are definitely going to be a contributing member, lol. The production bumpers will have thicker brackets for the D-Rings, for strength, and I hate when they hang crooked. The rear bumper on my 87 has 0.5" D-Ring brackets, and they work well. Thanks for the input.

Adam.

they do look good, i like the clean tubing look.

pitpatt 06-17-2009 07:46 PM

what are the pricing on these bumpers, front and rear? i am in the market for at least a front bumper here in the next few months and i like the design that you have.

also, could i get some more pics of the front bumper whenever you get the chance?

thanks in advance

is there a 1st gen version?

Pikeman 06-17-2009 09:38 PM

Looks nice only input i would have is to come up with some kind of plate to fill the gap between lift gate (just undr the latch braket running horizontal) to the top/main tube of the bumper for a slightly more finished look

We are going to have a plate there. In your opinion, should it be welded in place, or a bolt on option? We thought some people might like the open look too. Let me know, thanks.

The front will be $599, as for the rear, we haven't decided on a price just yet.

troyboy162 06-29-2009 07:25 AM

Our brackets are being cut this week. We'll have a better idea on our cost in 2 weeks. Still figuring time and material cost on these bumpers. I'll let you know ASAP though. Thanks.

Yes, the bumpers are completely bolt on. No drilling or welding required.

It has a hitch, Why would you want to keep the factory junk ?
