Bilstein 5100's question

OK so i see alot of people buying toytech/ eibach springs with bilstein 5100's, to make a 2- 3" coilover setup. I'm seeing the standard ones for my truck, but guys around forums were using the height adustable version. Can someone link me if there are some that'll fit my truck?? i have 96 standard cab 2.4L 5 lug. Or just verify that i'll have the same effect if i use the regular 5100's.

i dunno how your truck weighs compared to the 1995-2004 Tacoma or to the 1996-2002 4Runner. Because for the 4Runner, the Tacoma 5100s shown in your link is considered to be soft that's why almost all use the Tundra 5100s. The 1996-2002 4Runner is heavier compared to the 1995-2004 Tacoma.

What about 4600's then? i don't think they have the extended versions, but i wanted to have the lift available for my truck, not just new suspension.

sorry, but i am not familiar with the 4600s. ypu will need to compare the extended/compressed lengths and the damping/valving for both compression and rebound

Do those 5100's come with the spring perches on them or do you use them off the old struts?

KZN185W 10-28-2013 06:27 AM

the spring perches come with the shocks but are removable

Right on. Think I am going to order up a set for my '96 Tacoma. I need about 1" lift up front to level it out after some new taller leafs

Well would the tundra 51's fit with taco eibach springs?? i'm trying to have a coilover setup but not sure if all would line up.. Alot of people say to switch the top plate with a tundra one but i'm not sure how that works.

Sorry, i had to use this comment to quote again lol.

I'm not familiar with the eibach springs. You can check with Toytec as i believe they sell the eibach springs.

about the top plate, you will need the original top plates of your truck but you'll need the rubber isolators from a 1999-2006 Tundra, IF AND ONLY IF, you use the tundra coil springs. If you decide to go the eibach route, you MAY OR MAY NOT need the tundra rubber isolators. you can check this out with toytec.

Btw, is your truck a Tacoma?

Do these 5100's work with 6 lug and 5 lug taco's? Ive got 6 lug.

Im also wondering about this tundra talk...I may just pull the trigger on the Tacoma 5100's

KZN185W 11-04-2013 02:29 PM

as long as the UCAs and top mount are the same as with the 6-lug, then the 5100s should work fine. please note that there is a 5100 for a Tacoma but has 3 height adjustment rings only
