Biggest Tire With 3 inch body lift? Dual Exhaust?
I was wondering if 33s were the biggest tire that will fit on a 91 4runner with 3 inch body, with room to move around with. Also has anyone put dual flowmaster exhaust on one of these?

My opinion
I think 33s will look good under your 3 inch body lift. I have 35s under my 4 inch susp & 3 inch body lift and they seem small. I want 37s but will wait until funding for gearing comes in. Glad to see your gonna be up with the big boys. I started out with 31s, lifted the susp 4 inches with 33s but put 35s under it. Minor rubbing at extreme angles. Good Luck. Blue

Big Bad Blue-
Hey, are you saying that you were able to fit 35's with just the 4" of suspension lift?? The 33's under my 4th gen are starting to look small, and I have no rubbing at all. I am planning on adding about another inch or so to the front and then throwing on some 315/70R17's (34.28 x 12.35), I would love to hear what you think...I really think that I could fit them. Thanks in advance.

I think the answer is yes he did but he is a 2nd genner and you are a 4th so it may be different and he doesn't want to get flamed for giving what may be interpreted as false info.
If thats not right forgive me...just adding to the disclaimer.

Yeah I just do not want to make a comment stating that a certain part would fit a different generation vehicle than what I am use to. If someone went and put a large amount of money into that part and found it didn't fit I would end up with a bad rep for talking about something I had no clue. That would make me feel stupid. The only thing I see different between the 2nd and 4th gen on the tire fitting subject is maybe:
1.Body style at the fenders.
2.wheel base.
Those are the only things I see as being issues for someone wanting to put larger tires on a rig such as a 4th gen.
I am glad to hear that they will fit your 4runner. That is sweet. You will have to take some pics, I have yet to see a decked out 4th gen but then again I have not gone out to look. Ben

I have 32's on my 92 with a 3 inch body lift and when i get new tires i'm going with 33's....there seems to be plenty of room for them. even though they are an inch bigger it is only 1/2 in radius....which means it only puts the tire 1/2 inch closer to rubbing. same goes with width....going from 11.5s to 12.5s only puts the tire 1/2 in and 1/2 out farther. this is not acounting for differences in tire maufacturers or tread height....meaning some 33's are bigger than others.
HERE ARE PICS OF MINE WITH 32'S

ill find the thread and link to it here later, but there is a guy over on 4x4wire who fit 35's on his 3rd gen pickup (same as 2nd gen runner) with a 1" body lift and fender trimming!
something you guys seem to be forgetting about tire fitment is the wheels, the width and backspacing has everything to do with the arc in which they turn, and thus whether they will clear the fenders.
if you use an 8" wide rim with 4" of backspacing, a 3" bodylift will clear 35's

I was not offended.
I have 33's with a 1" bodylift. They roll on 15x8 4" BS steel wheels which, as others said, is a big part of it.
I would run 35's with a 3" bodylift myself, and there have been those who did that as well. 35's really need gears to be wheeled in my humble mall crawling opinion.
The dude who has 35's with a 1" bodylift did some aggressive fender trimming.

I had 33x12.50 Mud King XT's on a 15x8 rock crawler w/ 4" BS with just a torsion crank and FJ80 rear coils no body-lift. I got the front so it wouldn't rub on partial compression by removing the mud flaps, bending some metal and removing the running boards. It would still rub some but not bad on full compression. The rear didn't rub at all. I am thinking seriously about a 3.4 engine swap now and doing a 2" BL I think I would be able to clear 35's with the setup I have currently if I had a body-lift. I am also concidering doing a 1" front ball spacer lift there's a guy out in California who had a set of them made and a guy in Baja mexico who is running a custom set he had made and can make more he said he could get me a set for about $100 with the grade 8 hardware included. I would like to eventually do SAS but rather than plunk down $800 or more for a 4" suspension lift I would remove in a year or so I would rather use a set of $100 ball spacers and a $100 BL.
Here's what it looked like with just the FJ80 coils and a torsion crank on 33's:

I'm in the same boat as Adrian. 33's, 1" BL and 3.75" BS wheels. I had to do some wheelwell clearancing (beat the hell out of the bottom of the back of the wheelwell with a BFH and some grinding) and I also had to trim my front bumper and valance since I don't have an ARB or the like yet.
I am going with a TJM T-17 they are easier to modify than the ARB with a body-lift.

Drop the inner fender liner that is hard plastic.
Apply your favorite steel removing/adjusting tool to the inner fender seam.
Hammer the bottom lip of the fender that has a hole to hold the fender liner such that it gets flatter, but not so buggered as to lose the hole that holds the fender liner.
The story goes that 1" might be enough for the swap.
