Anything to worry about ? (Rust and steering)

Got a pretty clean 04 I just bought but when going through the engine bay , I noticed the plate at the end of the steering arm is looking pretty bad. This truck is still under warranty. Anything to worry about here?

Mine isn't that bad. I think it's location gives it a lot of stone/ pebble pick up from the road which then knocks the paint off... if its under warranty like you mentioned I'd see if they would replace it.. I'd rather have new then old

Also , at first I’ll thought the plate was bent there, but on closer inspection it seems like it is supposed to be bent like that and there are a couple centering pins there instead of bolts?

That is normal, no warranty coverage for that, I call it the rag joint, you might want to spray it down with something, i use undercoating, (but excessive oil is bad for soft rubber), incase you plan on doing a body lift or anticipate your going to change the steering rack. I just separated mine the other day to put the 1" BL in after 20 years on a 99' that sees winters, And it is not bent, those "centring pins" are bolts that hold the rubber rag joint to the lower steering rack, and the other bolts hold the rag joint to the upper part of the rag joint.

Ah, I saw 2004 and was confused - as 4Runners went all automatic in 2001. Must be a Tacoma then.
