I'm wondering if anyone is running 285/60/18 tires on their 4Runner with a set of 0 offset wheels? If so are you experiencing any rubbing?

I'm debating on whether to get a set of 18" wheels and tires or whether to just go with a set of the Ivan Stewart 16" wheels and mount my existing Michelins on them. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

I maybe wrong but I think that the TRD Ivan Stewart wheels are a bitch to balance. Someone corret me if I'm wrong. On the 18"s too bling-bling for me, well that depends on the wheel. What 18 are you thinking about?

Thanks for the reply Robert. I have heard about the difficulties with balancing the IS wheels but they are still very attractive. Regarding the 18" wheels, I'm definately not going for bling-factor. I would be getting a set of polished silver 18" wheels (not chrome) and they are quite tasteful in my opinion. If anyone out there knows whether the 285/60/18 wheels will run on a stock height 2001 4WD without rubbing, I would greatly apprecite the input.

The height won't matter, but the 285 tire will be about .5" to 1" wider. A nice offsetting rim sould let you get around that.

Thanks for the reply UNR. Any idea what offset would be good for this situation? I was actually looking at 0 offset but I think the wheel I was interested in is also offered in a +20 offset. If I understand offset correctly, +20 is the wrong direction from the offset that you are describing. I would probably need -20 offset instead, correct?
