All at once failure, keyless remote, rear window, rear wiper [solved!!]

Good afternoon all. I have a 2000 4runner v6 SR5. 100k miles. Well treated. Second owner.
Last week I lost the ability to roll the rear window up/down. Neither the front switch nor key in liftgate will activate it. I hear no clicking while doing this. All is quiet. Also, my remote entry keyring will not activate anything. It wont operate any of the door locks or the rear window.
Are these things related?

I did something last weekend that I had never done before. I was in the front seat and my GF needed to get something from out of the back. I used the front switch and lowered the rear window. She couldn't reach over, and before I could stop her, she opened the lift gate. I raised the window from the front switch and never thought twice about it.

3 days later I noticed that my switch wouldnt operate the window and then neither would the key...and then I noticed that the remote wouldnt do anything. I didnt know if they were related and I replaced the battery in the remote with no effect.

If you know what the issue is, I would appreciate help. I may need to find a switch or relay and if you know those locations, please tell me.

[UPDATE]
The problem was a loose plug into the rear ECU which is in the liftgate behind the plastic cover. I opened the liftgate, pulled open the plastic cover and pressed in on the plug. Very obviously loose. Must have been after a recent slam shut. Now remote works in all functions and the front switch and the rear key switch work as new.

That's interesting, I'm pretty sure I've rolled the window either up or down while the tailgate was up. Sounds like you may have a loose / disconnected wire. Follow the wire from around the hinge; if lifting the tailgate caused the wire to disconnect, it probably happened there.

Does that broken wire idea also affect the keyless entry remote?

Do you mean the remote won't unlock your 4Runner anymore? Or just that it won't roll the window down? Obviously if the wires going to the window are disconnected nothing is gonna roll it down, switch, key, or remote.

trivial, but make sure that the window lockout button on the driver's door isn't activated - it also locks out the rear window

The keyless remote does nothing anymore and stopped at the same time the rear window stopped operating.

seriously - make sure you didnt inadvertently depress that switch - it would explain an 'immediate total failure'. If thats not it, I would then check the fuse, followed by checking that the harness behind the dash is still connected to the window switch

Yes I have checked the windowlock button and it is fine. I dont see how that would affect the doorlocks or the keyless remote though.

MPX is right, sorry for my typo. Try checking it with a light or multi meter, or swap in a known good fuse for a test. This is the fuse that controls all of those items, so ruling it out completely will help a lot.

Hi Yukon, I checked it for continuity with my multimeter but it shows good.
The good news is that its cooler today and nice to work outside.

Holy two years old tommytuttle!!!

Would the keyless entry controls have any effect on the rear window? Sounds like a fuse or a relay poped somewhere?
