All 3vz owners?
Howdy! I need some help 
I notice that there is a wire that connects to the top of the Air Intake chamber on the 3vz motors. It is held in place by the bolt that holds the throttle cable and then runs to the rear between the Intake chamber and fire wall. I am guessing it's a ground. But what is it grounding?? Mine is missing and I am wondering what that darn thing dose. Thanks for your help!

Mine has the wire, I'll try to look tonight to see where it goes. It's definitely stock, you should take that pic to the parts counter @ Toyota & ask them for sure. I'll post tonight if I can trace what it goes to.

I'm pretty sure that's a body ground -- it should go to the firewall. I ran my truck briefly without it when I sheared off the bolt connecting another ground to it :pat: until a guy I work with got it out with easy-outs.
