What should I look out for with the 95 4runners?

Well as far as the engine, the HGs are the weakest link. Most everything else is very durable as long as fliuds are changed regularly. The radiators will develop small pin holes at the top and should be replaced although they don't leak much through the pin holes. The timing belt is recommended to be changed every 60,000 miles. The water pump maybe every other timing belt change (120,000 miles) replace it too. Might find out if the HG's were replaced by the dealer under the recall, that way you know that it was probably done right and the block replaced too, if needed. Here is the Toyota case line #(800) 331-4331. Call them with the vin # and they will tell you when and where the recall work was done. One little tip when reading the letters in your vin# over the phone say Victor instead of "V", David instead of "D" etc.

I own a pickup (same engine), So I can't comment on the body a lot, but I think the rear windows have been problems with some 4-runners. I know my power window switches went out on the drivers door. I was able to disassemble the master switch and clean the black carbon build-up off the contacts and fix the problem. If you try this watch out for 3 or 4 springs that will fall out, and one that will fly off without warning (the window lock-out button),it is best not to even touch this button while the master switch is disassembled.

As far as the front suspension (same as mine): it is just the basics like ball joints, tie rod ends, control arm bushings, shocks. I have just replaced all mine at 105,000 miles. I don't know the rear suspension very well on the 4-runners, but I hear a lot of people complain about them sagging in the rear.
