4runner prob

Hey guys, i have a little problem, i had a remote starter installed in my 98 4runner, and one day it just went haywire.. it kept trying to turn the engine on even though it was already on, i had the starter replaced under warranty.. (extended) but now the truck has no power when i try to accelerate and i hear a tinny noise when its over 3k rpm.. any ideas what is wrong? its all under warranty, from the remote starter to the engine etc.. any help would be great! Thanks

Sounds to me like whomever put the starter in may have put it too close to the flywheel teeth. How big is the loss of power on a scale of 1 - 10, 10 being severe.

the remote starter was screwing up before i got the new starter installed..

the mechanic i was talking to said the flywheel is probably screwed up..
how big of a job is it?

loss of power scale? say about 4-5

Are you asking if you can do it, or how much it would be to have it done?
